This special program teaches the class about money and affords each child a practical means of utilizing and solidifying their mathematical skills. During this classroom activity, children learn about the lives and works of a variety of well-known artists, including: Jackson Pollock, Vincent Van Gogh, and Alexander Calder. Individual and Group Reading
Reading is an integral part of the way in which children are able to succeed academically. Therefore, for the children not yet reading, a portion of the school day is spent working toward becoming independent readers; those who already read independently, work at perfecting their reading skills.

Periodically, the children receive a visit from Chef Franca from Piccadilly Bakery to spend some time with them in the kitchen whipping up some tasty treats. The children always have such a fun time measuring, cooking, and of course, eating their “masterpieces.”

Music teacher, Elaine Short, will again be with us to present the children with music class. They learn basic musical concepts such as beat, rhythm, tempo, and pitch. The children also have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of different musical instruments.

At ECAP Academy, we believe it is important to learn about and take care of our planet. Therefore, as a service to our community, the children visit different places to pick up trash, plant flowers, paint murals, etc., throughout the school year.

Snapshots is a special, on-going program that is conducted during the Spring months. The children are given cameras and asked to take photographs of the things that interest them. The children have their photographs displayed and premierd at the annual ECAP Academy Art show.
